Well I am in the southeastern corner of Indiana, not real close but again not real far. I live not far from the National Muzzleloaders Headquarters. They have spring and fall shoots that attract people and venders from across the country. I met a gentleman from Virginia that sold highly figured wood for gunstocks. I bought a few pieces of off-cuts from him for bowl making. Upon talking to him he told me that he sold slab wood for firewood that some craftsmen bought and used as building material. I was at the time thinking of renting a van and driving down and getting some but never got around to it. I will have to hunt up his name or talk to him in June at the next shoot. If he is close maybe it would be something you would be interested in. He was selling it at $50 a pickup load a few years ago. Hope you get all your projects completed and everything goes well for you.
Greg,
Just wanted to drop a short note and make sure you were aware that your 'friend' invite was accepted, and that everything was acceptable on your side. I haven't had time to post lately, I had a couple of custom projects unexpectedly pop up and a show i am not ready for on 24April...so many things, so little time...sure hope when i retire in a couple of years that i can get caught up with myself...i am in Virginia...you anywhere close..?
